Water, Waves & Us: a water safety incursion for early learning centres
A 30-minute, play-based session we bring to your 3–5s room. Children explore breath, waves and the water around them, and leave a little braver.

Why We Built It
Water safety starts long before swim lessons
Most children in the Northern Rivers grow up around beaches, pools, creeks and floodwater. Long before they can swim, they can learn to read water, calm their breath, and know when to ask a grown-up for help. Finding Our Flow brings that learning into the room, through play, without a bus trip or a pool.

What Children Do
Five phases, one calm, playful session
~ Arrival and regulation. An ocean soundscape and a shared stop signal.
~ Breath awareness. Bubble breathing across shallow bowls of water.
~ Wave movement. Moving together under a six-metre fabric wave.
~ Water environments. Clear, murky, moving or unknown: which water is safe?
~ Reflection. A closing circle, with a take-home sheet for every family.**
