A school-based initiative combining water confidence, ocean safety, and environmental connection

The Flow State Aquatic Education Program

The Flow State Program is a year-long educational initiative designed to support children in developing confidence, safety awareness, and connection to aquatic environments.

It brings together practical water skills, emotional wellbeing, and environmental learning in an engaging and inclusive format.

Why this program exists

Many children do not fully engage in traditional water education pathways.

Confidence, emotional readiness, and accessibility all play a role in how children experience the water.

This program is the new pathway — one that supports participation, safety, and long-term positive relationships with aquatic environments.

❋ Water Confidence Building comfort, trust, and practical safety skills in aquatic settings ❋ Ocean Safety

Understanding coastal conditions, awareness, and responsible participation

❋ Environmental Education

Developing connection and stewardship for marine ecosystems

❋ Social & Emotional Growth

Supporting confidence, resilience, and engagement through experiential learning

The program is designed for schools, educational partners, and community organisations.

Delivery can include:

In-school workshops

Aquatic sessions

Beach-based learning experiences

Professional development pathways for educators

How it is delivered

The Flow State Program is currently being piloted with local schools and is being developed for future research, partnerships, and broader implementation.

This includes collaboration opportunities with educational institutions, funding bodies, and aligned community partners.
